A Leak in the Dyke

Welcome to this week's edition of American Dissident Voices, the Internet radio program of the National Alliance. I'm your host and the Chairman of the Alliance, Erich Gliebe.

Most Americans have at least a vague recollection of an old tale of a nameless Dutch boy who held back the sea for one whole night by plugging a hole in the dyke with his finger. What most Americans don't know is that the story is almost certainly a work of complete fiction, made popular by -- and probably invented by -- an American writer, Mary Dodge, who was born in New York in 1835 and never once visited Holland.

Dodge's 1865 novel, Hans Brinker or the Silver Skates, includes this heart-warming story, which is much better known in the United States than it is in the Netherlands. Up until 1950, thousands of American tourists had returned home from visiting Holland, disappointed that they hadn't been able to see the dyke at which the heroic act took place. The main reason for that, of course, is that there WAS no such dyke, and the Dutch men and women they talked to didn't know the story, except on the off chance that they were quite familiar with American literature or had picked it up by word-of-mouth from American tourists.

So, in 1950, to satisfy American tourists, the Dutch Bureau for Tourism had a statue of the fictitious Dutch boy-hero placed at Spaarndam. I don't know if the funds for that statue came out of the foreign policy funds of the government's budget for that year, but it was a nice gesture on the part of the Dutch to pacify the Americans, even if the whole story is a harmless fabrication.

It's kind of ironic that a foreign government would strive to please the American public, when the American government itself under George W. Bush seems to have no desire at all to carry out the wishes of its own people. The longtime desire of the American people for its government to bring the troops home from the senseless wars for Israel in Afghanistan and Iraq, for example, has been repeatedly beaten down by the Bush Administration. And despite the lopsided nature of the media coverage on non-White immigration, there can be no doubt that the majority of Americans want to end immigration altogether. This wish, too, has been quietly ignored by those in Washington who chafe under the yoke of the will of the Jewish media and political establishment.

Of course, now that the Bush Administration has all but destroyed any positive perceptions of Americans in the minds of all the world's people, it is inconceivable that a foreign government would do anything nice for Americans today. Many Americans won't even travel outside the U.S. today, for fear that someone will associate them with George W. Bush's policies and do violence to them.

But be that as it may, we can still glean a good lesson or two from the apparently-fictitious tale of the Dutch boy plugging the dyke. The fact that it is a phony story doesn't detract from its essential power or the fundamental truths that it contains. After all, legends and folk-tales aren't usually based on real people or real events, and many of those "untrue" stories have a remarkable ability to inspire us with their heroism or capture our imaginations with their intrigue. And, if we take the time to think about them a little, most of them teach a lesson that we can apply to the world today.

One idea I am reminded of by Mary Dodge's story is that there are many people who are loyal to their family, their nation, or a cause to the point of physical and mental collapse. All night the Dutch boy held back the water. At first, unwilling to leave his post, he called at the top of his lungs for help. When that failed, he tried to whistle, but all to no avail. When his breath had run out and, as the hours wore away, his physical discomfort became nearly unbearable. He moved around as much as he could without shirking his duty but, even so, cramping and intense pain couldn't be avoided. At last, as morning broke, a pedestrian on top of the dyke saw the boy far down on the land side, and soon the young hero was relieved by Dutchmen who understood the gravity of what the boy had done.

This kind of duty-oriented heroism is clearly recognizable to all of us. The old Greek tale of Pheidippides, who in 490 BC ran 26 miles to bring the good news of the Greek victory over the Persians at Marathon to the people of Athens, is a story of duty that is known and appreciated by all Whites. Many White racialists look with pride at the martial ardor -- to the point of exhaustion -- of those who fought for a White, unified Europe during the middle of the last century.

It was that kind of heroic aspect of the tale that is commemorated on a plaque that is posted with the statue at Spaarndam, by the words:

Dedicated to our youth, to honor the boy who symbolizes the perpetual struggle of Holland against the water.

It's easy to see why the story moves us: the Dutch have been fighting to hold back the sea for a long, long time, and so a problem with a dyke is a problem of significant importance to them. When we Whites read the story, we automatically relate to the boy and his struggles to address a problem of this magnitude.

That ability to relate to characters in books and to view issues from various perspectives isn't necessarily shared by members of other races. In his 1968 speech entitled "What We Owe Our Parasites," Dr. Revilo P. Oliver stated that one of the unique traits of White people, and I quote:

"…is the capacity for objective and philosophical thought, which is virtually limited to our race, and which enables us to put ourselves mentally in the position of others…"

Some racialists ascribe the dangerous position of the White race today to our people's ability to see the world from another's point of view. They believe that it weakens our will to take care of our own business and, too often, to give in to the resolute perspectives of the other races, who suffer from no such condition. The Jews, for example, concern themselves strictly with the welfare of the Jewish race; the Hispanics that are pouring over our southern borders do the same with regard to their own people. Worldwide, it seems that White people are the only ones who are seeing the world from not only their own point of view, but also from those of the other races, so the evidence suggests that the late Dr. Oliver was right. In Mein Kampf, Hitler complained of this ability to comprehend different points of view when he wrote about Germans, in particular:

And particularly a people that suffers from the mania of objectivity as much as the Germans. For, after all this, everyone will take the greatest pains to avoid doing the enemy any injustice, even at the peril of seriously besmirching and even destroying his own people and country.

Now, I agree with another statement made by Dr. Oliver in the same speech that I referenced above, and that there is no point in bemoaning our possessing a racial characteristic that we can't do anything about. If we didn't have the trait of objectivity, we wouldn't be who we are. Without objectivity and the ability to look at problems from multiple angles, Western art and Western science and Western literature would have developed along totally different lines and, in my opinion, inferior lines.

No, our objectivity is a good thing. For one thing, it tends to keep us on a straight-line path to the truth about any matter, not only in the seeking out of the truth but, once we've found it, in sticking to our guns about it. The problem is that most people aren't curious enough to seek out the truth or brave enough to face it if they do learn it, but that is another issue and isn't a knock on our objectivity.

With all of that said, there is no doubt that we need to keep our objectivity in check, to not go overboard in seeing the world from other's points of view to the detriment of our own. This is the essence of the disease of liberalism. Liberalism as practiced today is an over-objectivity in which one's own needs -- or the survival needs of one's own people -- are sacrificed so that competing ideologies or competing alien races may have an advantage. When carried to an extreme, the problem becomes obvious: the race that chooses to sacrifice itself for others heads down the slippery slope of extinction. And that is just the path that we Whites are on today, a path that we must choose to vacate.

So our racial objectivity allows us to put ourselves in the shoes of others, whether they are characters in books -- like the Dutch boy in Mary Dodge's novel -- or whether they are people in real life. We also mentioned that a misplaced objectivity is at the root of the cancer of what I might call multiracial liberalism, the effects of which are visible for all to see today.

Classical liberalism is one thing, with its emphasis on limited government and individual freedom, but modern multiracial liberalism is something different altogether. Multiracial liberalism, which emphasizes racial integration, special privileges for homosexuals and non-Whites, and open borders, is a thorn in the side of the White race, and it is recognized as such by all Whites who love their race.

But it isn't just White racialists like National Alliance members and others who smell the stink of multiracial liberalism. There are also many conservative and independent Whites -- who don't classify themselves as racialists -- who are sickened by the policies and programs of multiracial liberalism. And with the economy the way it is, with the Bush Administration focusing on the Middle East and ignoring things stateside, it was only a matter of time before someone snapped.

Last week, that someone was 58-year-old Jim Adkisson who last Sunday brought a shotgun hidden in a guitar case into the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee and opened fire during a church youth performance. At the time we were producing this broadcast, two people had died and four or five more were in the hospital in either serious or critical condition.

Adkisson was apparently a loner who has been described by various neighbors and other acquaintances as both a really nice guy and one who, they thought, "hates" people who are different from him. It is alleged that Adkisson's dislike of liberals and homosexuals played a role in his actions, and it is no secret that Unitarian Universalist congregations have, on the average, been strong advocates of multiracial liberalism: affirmative action; social policies that benefit non-Whites and homosexuals; non-White immigration; the divisive ideology of feminism; and other issues. Adkisson had been out of work for a while, and had just been informed by the federal government that his food stamps were going to be reduced or cut off completely. In Adkisson's mind, liberal social policies and his insecurity about being able to keep food on the table were intertwined and, to some degree, they are. He just couldn't handle the pressure, and that led to the unfortunate events of last Sunday.

I am anticipating that the actions of Jim Adkisson are among the first small leaks in the dyke that supports the established order in the United States. The National Institute of Mental Health estimates that more than one-fourth of all Americans over the age of 18 suffer from a mental illness in a given year. That number suggests that there are well over 50 million American adults who experience a mental illness every year. The extent to which genetic predisposition plays a role as compared with the role played by the alienation and multiracial chaos that surrounds us is unclear, although there is no doubt that those are the two main factors.

The Jewish Establishment, with all of its media and political power, will plug the leak in the dyke made by Jim Adkisson, but more such leaks like the one that appeared in Tennessee last Sunday can be expected to appear in the next year or so. The question now is whether those leaks will cause the dyke that holds our race in this multiracial prison of a society to fail, to the point of having to restructure things.

As painful as this is going to be if it happens, we need for the dyke to fail. If the dyke holds -- that is, if the present way of things remains unchanged -- our race is doomed. The good news is that, even if the dyke fails, we Whites have the ability to create a new society based on White racialist ideals: a White racial homeland.

What actions do we and you need to take now, in order that our race can create that homeland and have a future?
