Hello again, and welcome back to this week's edition of American Dissident Voices, the Internet radio program of North America's foremost racialist organization, the National Alliance. I'm your host and the Chairman of the Alliance, Erich Gliebe.

There has been quite a bit of news over the past couple of weeks regarding the conflict between the Russians and the Georgians in the former Soviet state of Georgia. No one seems to know exactly who started it, as everyone is laying blame at the feet of someone else, but what is clear is that there isn't going to be a fast and easy solution that everyone will be able to accept and live with very soon. No; even if the tentative ceasefire holds, there is going to be tension on both sides of the issue for quite some time yet, and the threat of future violence is very real.

I will quickly summarize what has been going on in Georgia, and then we will be looking at the issue from a couple of different viewpoints to see if we can draw some conclusions about how what is happening over there between the Black and Caspian Seas is connected to what is happening in the West and elsewhere.

Georgia, not surprisingly, is peopled mostly by Georgians -- slightly more than 80% of the population. The remaining residents of Georgia come from many racial and ethnic backgrounds, and a wide variety of languages are spoken. Georgia was a part of the Soviet Union from 1922 until 1991 and has sought closer ties with the West since breaking away from the former USSR.

One of Georgia's northern regions, South Ossetia, lies just south of Russia, along the Georgian-Russian border. Ever since the breakup of the Soviet Union, South Ossetia has tried to achieve independence from Georgia, first by declaring its intent to unite with North Ossetia, a region to the north and part of Russia proper. When that didn't work out, South Ossetia simply declared its independence from Georgia, appealing to Russia to recognize its sovereignty.

Georgia has resisted all attempts by the South Ossetians to secede and has used both political arm-bending and military force to keep South Ossetia under its control. A civil war broke out in 1991, with volunteers from the Russian region of North Ossetia coming to the aid of their ethnic brothers to the south. A peace treaty was concluded in 1992, and peacekeepers from various nations including Russia and Georgia were stationed in South Ossetia. From the start, it was a shaky peace arrangement, and now things have come to a head again.

So, what links are there between Georgia and the rest of the world? Has the United States or Israel been in any way responsible for the unrest in Georgia?

Let's first consider the United States. Ever since Georgia regained its independence back in the early 1990s, American foreign policy has sought to lure a number of former Soviet states into the fold of NATO, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Remember, NATO was originally founded in 1949 as a coalition of twelve nations who essentially pledged to stand together against the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union, in response, initiated the Warsaw Pact in 1955, which was a union of communist nations. As the years passed, the coalition grew, continuing to do so after the breakup of the Soviet Union. NATO has now expanded into Central and Eastern Europe, having brought in several former Soviet republics and communist satellite states such as Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, and Poland.

It is only natural that Russia would view this expansion of NATO as a threat. For some time after the breakup of the Soviet Union, Russia didn't have the leadership to challenge NATO's expansion, but that all changed when Vladimir Putin officially came to power in 2000. With Putin at the helm, the Russians began to have confidence in themselves again, and Putin refused to go quietly in letting the United States have its way in all matters.

Well, George W. Bush's foreign policy hasn't helped smooth things over with Putin and with the new president of Russia -- Putin's favored successor -- Dmitry Medvedev. Bush has continued to try to forge alliances with former Soviet states, going so far as to bribe them with American military equipment.

That is what has happened in Georgia. Not only have the Americans given Georgia diplomatic and political support, it now appears that the free-wheeling cowboy -- George Bush -- has been shipping supplies of weapons to Georgia. In recent weeks, the Russians have claimed that their forces have seized a large cache of American weapons in the western Georgian city of Senaki.

Of course, the Russians are livid that the United States would be so brash as to get involved in military shenanigans in countries that neighbor Russia. You have all probably heard the perhaps overzealous words of the Russian general Anatoly Nagovitsyn who, two weeks ago, stated that Poland risked provoking a Russian attack, possibly a nuclear attack, if it accepts Patriot missiles from the U.S. and agrees to allow the U.S. to install ground-based, long-range missile interceptors on Polish soil. A few days later, at a news conference in the Russian capital, the outspoken Nagovitsyn accused Israel of arming and training the Georgian military.

What's that all about? What could Israel possibly want with Georgia? Isn't it enough for Israel to have Big Brother Uncle Sam do all of your dirty work for you and beat the stuffing out of anyone who stands in your way? Why would Israel want to get involved in Georgia?

There are a few clues out there; several are provided in an article by Anshel Pfeffer entitled "Our Friends in Georgia" on the Jewish Web site www.haaretz.com. What follows is a quote from Pfeffer's article:

"Israel wanted to play a central role in Georgia. Ostensibly, this was a perfect opportunity. A pro-Western government that controls a central oil transport junction, with senior officials who are Jewish and were even educated in Israel, and an army thirsty for Israeli weapons and knowledge. On top of all that, our American ally was also a senior partner in the Georgian project. Many diplomatic and business opportunities opened there, and battalions of former generals, diligent entrepreneurs and middlemen quickly swooped down on them."

According to Pfeffer's article, besides Georgia being an important oil hub, her government has numerous Jews in high places. And these aren't homegrown, Georgian Jews we're talking about; Pfeffer says that they were educated in Israel. Also mentioned were "battalions" of businessmen who saw many opportunities to make a fast buck in Georgia, Jewish and American businessmen who -- no doubt -- didn't give a damn about the people of Georgia.

Why is it that Jews have risen to such prominence in Georgia? Do they constitute a significant fraction of the population? No; despite being one of the longest-running Jewish communities in the world -- the original Georgian Jewish community is believed to go all the way back to the 6th century BC -- Georgia is now a country that is home to a mere ten or fifteen thousand Jews. That is an insignificant portion of the people of Georgia, something like 0.3% of the population, certainly not enough -- statistically -- to warrant having quite a few Jews in positions of power within the Georgian government.

No, the Jews have risen to prominence in Georgia for the same reason they have risen to prominence in every country in which they reside: power. And they have tried to use that power in Georgia in the same way that they have tried to use it in every country in which they reside: to gain even more power and to hoard as much wealth as they can. Having control of some of the more important oil spigots of the world can enhance that power and wealth, and Pfeffer's article leaves no doubt that the Israelis were after the oil.

Further evidence of the Jewish ambition for the oil wealth in the Caucasus region is provided in an article from another Jewish Web site, www.debka.com. I quote:

"Jerusalem owns a strong interest in Caspian oil and gas pipelines reach the Turkish terminal port of Ceyhan, rather than the Russian network. Intense negotiations are afoot between Israel, Turkey, Georgia, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan for pipelines to reach Turkey and thence to Israel's oil terminal at Ashkelon and on to its Red Sea port of Eilat. From there, supertankers can carry the gas and oil to the Far East through the Indian Ocean."

The article goes on to mention the Israeli military presence in Georgia:

"Last year, the Georgian president commissioned from private Israeli security firms several hundred military advisers, estimated at up to 1,000, to train the Georgian armed forces in commando, air, sea, armored and artillery combat tactics. They also offer instruction on military intelligence and security for the central regime. Tbilisi also purchased weapons, intelligence and electronic warfare systems from Israel. These advisers were undoubtedly deeply involved in the Georgian army's preparations to conquer the South Ossetian capital…"

So the conflict in Georgia isn't just about ethnic tensions between Georgians and the people in South Ossetia who have closer ties with the Russians. It is also about geopolitical maneuvering and about power and wealth that is associated with the dwindling oil and gas reserves on this planet. And it should come as no surprise that the Jews have their hands in such business.

Unfortunately, it looks again that the strong ties America has to Israel are going to result in the U.S. looking like an ignoramus and a bully.

It is time for things to change. Check out the National Alliance Web site to find out what you can do to make America White and honorable again.

I'm Erich Gliebe, and thanks for being with me again today.
